School Layoffs Considered in Battle Creek

Board of Education met Monday night

The Battle Creek Board of Education met last night to discuss some hard choices to make up a severe budget shortfall.  The district is looking at a shortfall in the millions of dollars next school year.  In an effort to trim costs, the board voted last night to lay off more than two dozen teachers, as well as some administrative staff according to the Battle Creek Enquirer.  The board also voted to cut the current alternative education program.
